Your Tuesday report mentions the local woman behind ‘Barbie’s Dream Hearse’; city budget details; a Memorial Stadium rebuild plan; a block to the latest threat to sanctuary cities; and the French media re-rediscovering Seattle.

Amazon wants to do for, or to, another North American city what it’s done for, or to, Seattle. That’s the top story in our big weekend e-missive. Other subjects include the resurfacing of some onetime local TV stars; Chris Hansen’s plan for KeyArena; and a reason to go to Kent (other than jury duty or junior hockey).

The sky all day Tuesday was, among other colors a sickening shade of orange (how “of our time”). The other huge story today: Folk in all walks-O-life (even a couple of Republicans) bash the trashing of “Dreamers.” Plus, the UW wants to build employee housing.

A dog-daze-ish holiday weekend is done and MISCmedia MAIL’s back, with: a “decorative” way to make a stretch of city concrete un-campable; fires threatening the Portland exurbs and the “Northern Exposure” locations; the Puyallup Fair remembering when its grounds were used to detain WWII internees; Bob Ferguson vowing to protect our state’s DACA “Dreamers;” and the new Twin Peaks ending as incompletely as the old one did.

A local artist has made a beautiful poster, abstractly illustrating some of Seattle’s wackiest intersections. In more substantial Tuesday news, we’ve got Hurricane Harvey responses; why Amazon can get away with lowering Whole Foods’ prices; challenges to the trans-military ban; and the local “celebrity CEO” who may try to save Uber.

The third year of MISCmedia MAIL begins with a few random memories of my time on this earth. It goes on to discuss an historic big painting you’ve got to see; Boeing’s research into pilot-free planes; an Islamophobic rally moved from Portland to Seattle; and the usual zillion event listings.

Wednesday’s MISCmedia MAIL doesn’t know any more than you about the sudden closure of the classic Guild 45th and Seven Gables cinemas. We do know a little about another police-brutality settlement; the International District’s “upzone” moving forward; what white liberals don’t “get” about the whole Evergreen State College to-do; and our big, boistrous birthday party (tomorrow, Thursday 6/8/17, at the tony Two Bells!).

The alt-right rally scheduled for Portland before last week’s slayings took place, as did several counter-protests, as did arrests and seized weapons and pepper spray. Also in Monday’s MISCmedia MAIL: Anschutz doesn’t want to rebuild KeyArena after all; Dale Chihuly admits to emotional issues but denies cheating an associate; a legendary local bar will be reborn; and a proposed high-rise with a rooftop dome.

Wednesday’s MISCmedia MAIL starts with a great honor for one of my fave cartoonist/novelist/playwrights. It goes on to mention the “dirty” aspect of cleaning up Lake Washington; big-big plans for the UW; the apparent end to one of our era’s most famous couples; and five years after the Cafe Racer slayings (so many senseless slayings ago).

Memorial Day weekend came close to home, as we remember two people who gave their lives defending America’s highest values—here in the Northwest, at the weekend’s start. Tuesday’s MISCmedia MAIL also has words on B.C.’s new (and much less oil-industry-friendly) government; another dead whale washed ashore; and an “aurora” in Seattle that’s not an old U.S. highway.

In Tuesday’s e-missive: A new low in fashion silliness; a local landmark razed two years after its closure; a GOP state senator who wants to force the city and county to divorce; more hipster “Native inspired” culture-theft; and fake “No Parking” signs.

We need all the socio-political allies we can get these days, even within the pages of Teen Vogue! We look as well at Amazon’s at-long-last charitable streak; a church sex-abuse victim who doesn’t like what the church said about her legal fight; the governor proposing a “carbon tax” while a state investment board puts money into the petrochemical biz; and a (justly) long-forgotten novelty sport.

As the American Resistance enters its second week, we have protests both solemn (here) and anarchist-invaded (Portland), and more exhortations of hope and faith from local opiners. Plus: More Dakota Pipeline direct action; and a bad-boy rocker who’s now a girl.
